Severe Weather

How to leverage Barocline post-event hail, tornado, and wind event data

Automated workflow for investigating a severe weather event

When a user asks:

"What severe weather happened on May 7, 2024?"

the AI model will:

Step 1: Daily overview

Start with severe_weather_daily_analysis for a national summary.

Step 2: Drill into contours

Use severe_weather_contours_summary for area and severity breakdown, or severe_weather_contours_radius for map-ready GeoJSON.

Step 3: Verify with SPC reports

Cross-reference with severe_weather_spc_reports for NOAA ground-truth data.

Step 4: Visualize

Generate an interactive map with generate_severe_weather_quicklook:

"Create a quicklook map of the hail event on 03/10/2026 in the U.S."
